T.A.R.P. (Troubled Asset Relief Program) is a US government rescue plan for “struggling” financial institutions and singer songwriter Bill Zucker has not just written another parody song criticizing the current economic situation; he wants to make a difference.

He is creating a Tarphead community and organizing a “Million Tarphead Dance” event in Washington DC this spring, a million people Tarp-dancing in the streets of Washington, sending a direct message to the government; there is no fooling around with the bailout money now, we are alert and watching.

Bill Zucker is realistic and amusing at the same time; he is criticizing without provoking and is above all an entertainer. He stands out among the plethora of songwriters that have released songs about the recession on the internet and he is being rewarded for his resourcefulness with constantly growing popularity.

The lyrics:

Well I am just a poor boy from the streets of Tennesee
I work real hard to pay my bills but it?s too much for me.

I lost my job.they took my home?I?m down on my knees
but I heard about this place where money grows on trees

(Chorus)
I want some tarp
they’re giving money away for free
I want some tarp
save a little bit for me

From Boston to Seattle, across this great big land
tuck your head between your knees?..and take it like a MAN.

I’m packing my belongings off to Washington D.C.
They’re printing money left and right and I want a stack for me.

I’ve got an idea that just might work with what they’ve gave the companies
Give everyone a brand new car ‘insured by AIG

(chorus)

What’s with all these bonuses they’re giving to the rich
they’re fillin’ up their pockets walking way without a hitch.

I’ve gotta grab myself some TARP cause I hear its going fast
now I know why they call it fanny ’cause their heads are up their…
AS I WAS SAYING

(chorus)

Bill is fabulous, a very serious crisis is criticized in a funny way but without proviking.
Thats what a true entertainer should really do.
