Copyright has always been an important issue that some musicians and other artists ignore. More or less everybody knows what the copyright is but a brief investigation is necessary.
It is a procedure that gives to the creator of the intellectual property the exclusive right of his/her work for a specific time which lasts between 50 and 100 years (depending on the country?s legislation) after the creator?s death, after which period the work enters into the public domain (adaption). The copyright also gives to the creator the right to permit or prevent the use of that work by others. Therefore the creator is secured and no one else without permission can use the work.
