The Umbrella is the human conscience and timeless existence. The soil ties the individual to the earthly life, attempting to turn him into a lesser being, compelling him to yield to his lowest instincts. But the human feels the driving forces of the higher self longing to reach the sky, and deep inside he realizes that the time-defined human life is but one of the many concepts of creation, that what the mind accepts as static is “forever moving” and vice versa. The individual now believes, just like Plato believed and taught, in the duality of the human soul and is determined, in whatever frame of mind he might be at any moment, to grasp the answers that humanity ever strives to get to. A few months ago we found out about the Venus Project which indeed is something unique. I am sure a lot of people have been informed about it, some maybe not. The Venus project is an organization with main goals the change of the social and political establishment to a new, higher life-system which is based on the most important human ideal, freedom and social development based on the positive endeavours of technology.
The Venus Project (V.P.) first identifies the root of the problem: money is used to control the behavior and life of those with limited purchasing power. The Earth is being plundered for profit. The humans could have access to everything thanks to the technology and if that could be used in a positive way, there can be massive changes to the whole human society. Using technology, for example, people can travel easily and quickly thanks to magnet trains that can be constructed. How about traveling in 3 hours from London to Beijing with a speed of 3.000 km/ h? No fuel, no gas, more eco-friendly houses while using technology we could have almost everything without spending massive working hours doing something that does not make us happy. For example, no one would have to work in the factories, the machines would do almost everything while work could be a free choice and not a demand for survival. Artists and Society (poll results).
Posted by: bsm in 2009, Artist and the society, BlogIn this blog we have discussed several times the role of the artist in the community. Stereotypes and discrimination are very common problems that the artist have to face. For that reason I have created polls where people place their opinions. In this post we discuss the results of those polls together with other polls and surveys I found on the net.
(I would like also to point out that the quality if the pictures below is not very good, so I would suggest you to click to each specific picture in order to view it better)
Starting with the official Wichael R. Willow polls from polldaddy.com:
The results of the survey “Does the society consider the artists as outcasts?” show that the 35% of the voters believe that there is discrimination against artists but in general the society is full of stereotypes and people are labeled by their skin color, nationality, sexual orientation (including being artists) and together with the 29% who straight forward believes that there is an unfair discrimination, we have a 64% who would say yes. A small percentage says no, while the 29% supports that only the famous artists are appreciated while the non famous are considered as outcasts.
Regarding music piracy, 50% wants music to be free-legal for download, 14% should be allowed to download temporarily as a preview, together with a similar opinion of the 21% who support that the users should pay a monthly fee in order to download music as a preview and the 14% said illegal downloading should not be allowed at all.
The 57% want the musicians to be able to work more independently (believing this could be better for them), the 14% said the things will be worse for the musicians in the future and the 29% supports no groundbreaking changes will happen.

Videoclip: Call Me Strange
Posted by: bsm in 2009, Music/VideosThis is another song from the album “Forever Moving and Still“. It is based on inner thougts and feelings like isolation, being an outcast (proud of it but disliking it at the same time), being against the establishment and the stereotypes. A good song for those who want to break all the borders, a song for those who reject nationalism (I was born everywhere) and discrimination. An uncomfortable song for those who stick to the same conservative ideas of country, religion, for those who feel proud because it just happened to be born somewhere, for those who believe that another person who was born a few kilometers away is necessarily less important or inferior.
