Music lessons (guitar and voice) around Wimbledon area

Students receive up to 1 hour of one-to-one teaching from an internationally distinguished teacher in all types of guitar (acoustic, classical, electric) or voice (modern singing, pop, rock, jazz). Different teaching techniques allow the students to increase their performance standards, or start playing the instrument correctly from the first step in order to become a self-sufficient musician after receiving some appropriate tutoring. From jazz, reggae, soul to the AntonioSanchez-guitarheaviest metal, from classical music to the most experimental electro the secret of teaching music is one: Identification of the student’s needs. The student has the option to take up lessons either for personal enjoyment or to follow grade exams up to Diploma Level (which is also available).

Teaching approaches in a) guitar: 1) The posture (holding the guitar properly in order to avoid damage of the body) which is important especially for the beginners, 2) Increase of strumming techniques and powerchord riffs 3) Learn how to play using the fingers (fingerpickings). b)Voice: 1)Sing on key (for those who sing with flats) 2) Learn how to sing properly without damaging the vocal chords (Vocal breathing techniques, resonate the voice properly) 3) Expand the vocal range.

Notation and sight reading: It is advisable for the students to have sight reading knowledge. Except that this is necessary for grade exams it gives more possibilities to the student to work new pieces. notesNotation is the language of music, everything in song books (and other music score books) is written in notes. Therefore with better sight-reading knowledge, more music pieces can be played. Nevertheless, sight reading could be difficult sometimes but there are several teaching techniques that help the student to progress in that easily with step-by-step instructions and help.

Theory of music: It is important as it gives a widespread knowledge of music especially for the guitar players who need to explore improvisation. However, because learning theory is not the most exciting thing, especially for the guitar players who do not want to pursue a further career in music except to learn how to play the basic and do some solo improvisations, there are other patterns to follow without learning theory. Nevertheless, the idea of learning theory should be considerable.

In every case the objective is one: Become an independent learner which means be able to teach yourself, identify your mistakes and correct yourself which is the key to your further music progress.
