Michael Willow and Angel Live, (an acoustic duet called : Peter and the Wolf) performing the song: Wicked little town (cover version). The original song is in the soundtrack, Hedwig and the Angry Inch written by Stephen Trusk, sung by John Cameron Mitchel.
This is a very early sample from the the acoustic duet Peter and the Wolf (Michael Willow:guitars and Vocals, Angel Live:Back Vocals). The song is taken from the cover collection album “Taking it Down” (2003) which was mainly dedicated to David Bowie, Hedwig and the angry inch and a few other singers/songwriters who are the reason we exist in music today. David Bowie’s narration in Peter and the Wolf (by Sergei Prokovief) inspired Michael and Angel to choose the duet’s name. Continue reading »
One of the most distinguished guests during my radio shows in City International (Greece) was Nikki Sudden. The Berlin-based British musician talked about his career, his shows in Greece, his encounter with David Bowie and played some of his most characteristic songs.
Nikki was an impressive individual. Well-dressed and well-mannered, not in the least snobbish as some lesser than him musicians often are, a genuine rock n roller who fought for his art. He gifted me two of his albums, “The Last Bandit” and “Treasure Island” (the latter with an autograph in the booklet). When I learned about his death it was difficult to believe that the cause was drugs. The alcohol scenario (as I was told by a journalist of City International) sounded more likely because he didn’t seem like an addicted person to me. They say that he had a heart failure while asleep and never woke up.
The Drifting Back song written at 2001 by Michael Willow. Angel Live and Sophie Zissi helped as well in the lyrics. It will be included at the forthcoming album “Fo0rever Moving And Still”. How many times do we find ourselves looking back through time, to our childhood days? Things we have missed so valuable! Old friends, beautiful moments, scattered all in this gray nameless crowd…
